On August 23, 2026, in Bangladesh, the newly established investment development agency 'Invest Bangladesh' announced a series of new investment-friendly activities. Among the major announcements is a streamlined process to provide business operating licenses within a swift fourteen-day timeframe, marking a significant step toward improving the country's commercial landscape.

The creation of Invest Bangladesh follows the official merger of three key preceding organizations: BIDA, BEZA, and PPP. Ashik Chowdhury is currently serving as the chairman of Invest Bangladesh, leading the newly unified organization into its operational phase as it works to implement these progressive administrative reforms.

Addressing the structural transition, Chairman Ashik Chowdhury emphasized the broader vision behind the consolidation. He stated that this development is not merely about the merging of three separate institutions. According to Chowdhury, the primary goal is to organize the government's work more effectively by keeping the investor firmly at the center of all operations.

Elaborating further on the agency's strategy, Chowdhury noted that by combining their respective institutional capabilities, they intend to make accountability and responsibility much clearer across the entire investment journey. He added that the unified structure is designed to provide far more coordinated and comprehensive support to those looking to invest.

Looking ahead at the agency's trajectory, Chowdhury also remarked on the foundation upon which the new entity is being built. He stated that they will begin this new chapter as a larger and more robust team, drawing directly upon the achievements and past experiences of the predecessor organizations.

As Invest Bangladesh moves forward with its strategic roadmap, the agency is actively working toward establishing a definitive 180-day timeframe framework alongside its fourteen-day licensing goal to further optimize the business initiation process for domestic and international investors alike.
