India's NSA Ajit Doval Visits Beijing for 25th Boundary Talks

Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is officially travelling to China to engage in high-level diplomatic discussions concerning ongoing territorial matters between the two nations. This diplomatic visit marks the commencement of the 25th round of special representative-level boundary talks between India and China, reflecting a continued, long-standing dialogue process aimed at addressing complex frontier issues.

As part of his itinerary in the Chinese capital, Ajit Doval is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with China's Foreign Minister and special representative, Wang Yi. The crucial face-to-face discussions between the two high-ranking officials are officially slated to take place in Beijing on Tuesday, following the commencement of the Indian National Security Advisor's arrival.

The diplomatic engagement focuses heavily on the vast and sensitive frontier shared by the two countries. Specifically, India and China share a heavily scrutinized, 3,848-kilometer-long border, which has remained the central point of strategic discussions and bilateral negotiations for decades.

The formal mechanism guiding these high-level diplomatic efforts has a considerable history. To address the territorial complexities along their extensive frontier, India and the People's Republic of China originally established the special representative-level talks back in 2003, initiating a dedicated channel for bilateral conflict resolution.

This diplomatic development occurs against the backdrop of significant upcoming multilateral engagements involving the participating nations. Notably, preparations are currently underway for the upcoming BRICS summit, which is officially scheduled to take place in New Delhi on the 12th and 13th of September.
