Sanju Samson delivered a sensational performance by scoring 57 off 22 balls, steering India to a resounding seven-wicket victory over Afghanistan to officially clinch their highly anticipated three-match T20 series. The comprehensive win showcased India's dominance in the shortest format of the game, as the team methodically dismantled the opposition's bowling attack during a high-paced and thrilling run chase on 15 Sep 2026.

Earlier in the match, Afghanistan won the toss and managed to post a total of 159-8 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite their efforts to build a competitive score on the board, the Afghanistan batting lineup faced persistent pressure from the Indian bowling attack. Among the players featuring in the match for Afghanistan were Rashid Khan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, and Mohammad Nabi, who all took to the field as part of the visiting side.

The Indian bowling attack maintained strict discipline throughout the first innings, restricting the opposition to 159-8 and setting up a manageable target for their own formidable batting lineup. A wide array of Indian players contributed to the overall success of the team in the fixture, including Gurnoor Brar, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, and Arshdeep Singh, all of whom played crucial roles in the series-deciding encounter.

In response to the target of 160 runs, the Indian run chase was characterized by aggressive stroke play and exceptional efficiency from the opening overs. Sanju Samson led the charge at the crease with his blistering knock of 57 off 22 balls, leaving the opposing bowlers with very few defensive options as the score mounted rapidly towards the target.

Complementing Samson's explosive innings, the rest of the batting order ensured there were no late hiccups in the run chase. India comfortably reached the target, finishing their innings at 163-3 in just 14.5 overs to seal a comprehensive seven-wicket triumph that secured the three-match T20 series in decisive fashion.
