The official kick-off event for the nationwide business competition 'Ideathon Bangladesh 2026' was successfully held on September 5th at the Prothom Alo office located in Karwan Bazar, Dhaka. This high-profile gathering marked the beginning of a major entrepreneurial journey for aspiring innovators across the country, drawing attention from notable figures, organizers, and academic participants alike.
Organized primarily as an initiative by Markshapers with the active collaboration of Prothom Alo Bondhushava and the Bondhushava National Board, the competition is designed to unearth and nurture promising business ideas. Academic and institutional partners supporting the event include Bangladesh University and Ten Minute School, creating a robust framework for young talents to showcase their entrepreneurial potential on a national platform.
The structured competition will unfold across three distinct rounds to carefully filter and elevate the best business concepts. According to the competition format, the initial two rounds will be conducted entirely online, allowing participants from diverse regions to compete. From the initial entries, the best 60 ideas will successfully advance to the second round, after which a more selective group of 20 chosen ideas will secure their hard-earned places in the third and final round.
A major highlight of Ideathon Bangladesh 2026 is the substantial financial backing promised to the ultimate innovators. The final winners of the competition will have the extraordinary opportunity to win over 5 crore taka in investments. This financial injection aims to bridge the gap between talented youth and potential investors, fostering sustainable business growth.
Registration for the coveted competition will remain open throughout the month of September, giving interested participants ample time to submit their proposals. Following the conclusion of the registration phase, the core rounds of the competition will officially take place over the upcoming months of October and November.
