Google Unveils New Features for Pixel Devices and Pixel Watch
Google has announced a major rollout of new features for its Pixel devices and Pixel Watch hardware lineup. The December 2024 updates introduce expanded widget options, enhanced security tools, and software upgrades across global markets.
Technology giant Google has officially announced a comprehensive new suite of features designed specifically for Pixel devices and the Pixel Watch. Rolled out globally in December 2024, the update brings a wide array of functional enhancements, software improvements, and entertainment perks to eligible hardware users around the world.
Among the primary device enhancements is the introduction of expanded widget options tailored specifically for VIP contacts. This particular feature is rolling out to users with Pixel 6 devices and newer smartphone models, offering enhanced personalization and quicker access to essential communications directly from the home screen.
In addition to interface customizations, Google is significantly expanding its Scam Detection capabilities. This vital security feature is now extending both in-app and inside the native Messages application across numerous countries. The expanded international rollout includes users located in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Singapore, India, Germany, Mexico, Japan, and France.
Meanwhile, the Pixel Watch product line is receiving notable attention through software updates. Specifically, Pixel Watch 5 devices are currently receiving a Wear OS 7 update. This major system upgrade introduces several advanced capabilities, including offline Gemini functionality, more accurate GPS route tracking for workouts and navigation, and expanded one-handed gesture controls to improve everyday usability.
