Gold prices rise again just a day after being reduced

Gold prices in the country's market have changed once again. Just one day after reducing prices, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced a new increase in gold prices.

According to the new decision, the price of gold of specific purity has been increased compared to before. As a result, within a single day's interval, the cost of buying gold jewelry has risen again for consumers.

Why did gold prices rise again?

BAJUS usually adjusts jewelry prices by considering the gold price in the international market, the price of fine gold in the local market, and the overall market situation.

Recently, alongside fluctuations in gold prices in the international market, there have also been changes in the price of fine gold in the local market. This has impacted the country's jewelry market.

Changes within a single day

Although there was some relief among consumers after the reduction in gold prices, that relief did not last long. A decision to increase prices was made just one day later.

Consequently, the new price has become significant for those preparing to buy gold jewelry for weddings and various other occasions.

How much per bhari?

Following the implementation of the new rates, the prices of various categories of gold prevalent in the country's market have been redefined. This includes 22 carat, 21 carat, 18 carat, and traditional method gold.

When buying jewelry, the total amount to be paid at the shop may be higher as the declared price is subject to additional charges such as fixed making charges, VAT, and other applicable costs.

Extra pressure on consumers

The rise in gold prices may also impact the budgets of those interested in buying new jewelry. Especially when purchasing large quantities of gold for weddings or family functions, even a slight price increase can create a significant difference in the total cost.

Depending on changes in international gold prices and local conditions, there is a possibility of further price adjustments in the future.
