England finished the opening day of the second Test against Pakistan at Lord's on 248 for nine after being put in to bat. The fixture at the iconic London venue marks the latest chapter in the ongoing international cricket series between the two nations, following the opening encounter at Headingley where Pakistan suffered a defeat by a margin of 103 runs.

Asked to bat first by Pakistan after losing the toss, England's batting lineup faced immense pressure from the visiting bowling attack throughout the day's play. Despite the challenging conditions at Lord's, the hosts managed to grind their way through the innings, eventually reaching the close of play with nine wickets down for a total of 248 runs on the scoreboard.

Jordan Cox anchored a portion of the England innings with a resilient knock, scoring 55 runs from 88 deliveries.
