The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Training Academy recently organized a comprehensive three-day training program titled 'Basic Orientation of Securities Market Operation' specifically designed for officials of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC). The educational initiative took place in Dhaka, bringing together key regulatory personnel from BSEC including assistant directors and equivalent ranks, alongside personal officers and equivalent officials, to bolster their working knowledge of capital market operations.

Although the training sessions were successfully conducted from August 10 to 12, the formal notification detailing the outcomes and significance of the program was officially released to the public and media on August 16. The structured curriculum was formulated to give participating officials a thorough and practical understanding of core capital market activities, including trading and settlement procedures, investor protection mechanisms, market surveillance, and the modern application of technology in the financial sector.

Highlighting the broader objectives of the program, Mohammad Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan noted that the initiative taken by BSEC is both positive and fruitful for the capital market. He emphasized that such professional training programs make the exchange of practical working experience between commission and stock exchange officials much easier, which in turn supports ongoing market development.

Further emphasizing the regulatory requirements, Mohammad Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan stated that effective coordination between BSEC and DSE is absolutely essential for the smooth operation of the capital market, compliance enforcement, corporate governance, and the ultimate preservation of investors' interests. He added that this specific training program will significantly enhance the professional skills of the officials, enabling them to play much more effective roles in overall market development.

Echoing these sentiments, Md. Hossain Khan pointed out that the capital market holds a vital role in the overall economic development of the country. To maintain a functional and robust capital market, he stressed that continuously increasing the knowledge, skills, and professionalism of the relevant officials is an absolute necessity. He expressed confidence that the practical insights gained from the training will successfully strengthen mutual understanding, cooperation, and operational coordination among the participating institutions.

Finally, Dr. Asifur Rahman praised the timely and commendable nature of BSEC's initiative, noting that it creates a valuable platform for officials from both the commission and the stock exchange to build familiarity, exchange valuable experiences, and better understand real-world operational challenges. Dr. Rahman concluded that both institutions share a common goal of establishing an effective, transparent, and orderly capital market, and that future collaborative initiatives of this nature will play a crucial role in building an advanced and trusted capital market environment.
