Bangladesh SEC Launches Probe Into Dhaka Stock Exchange Top Officials
Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission has initiated an official investigation into the Dhaka Stock Exchange. A dedicated three-member committee has been formed to probe appointments, financial transactions, conflicts of interest, and regulatory duties.

The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has officially initiated a comprehensive investigation focusing on the top officials of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). This major regulatory scrutiny encompasses a wide range of critical operational areas, specifically targeting official appointments, financial transactions, potential conflicts of interest, and the overall execution of regulatory responsibilities by the exchange's leadership.
To thoroughly conduct this extensive inquiry, the regulatory authority has formed a specialized three-member investigation committee. The newly established panel comprises BSEC Director ASM Mahmudul Hasan, Additional Director Mohammad Shamsur Rahman, and Assistant Director Md. Motiur Rahman, who have been tasked with examining the DSE's internal affairs and administrative practices.
As part of the ongoing investigative process, formal communication has been dispatched from the regulatory commission to the Dhaka Stock Exchange. Specifically, a letter was sent to the managing director of the DSE on August 16, 2026, officially setting the wheels in motion for the submission of critical documentation and requested data.
Through this official correspondence, the regulatory body has instructed the Dhaka Stock Exchange administration to compile and submit all necessary information and relevant documents. The deadline for the DSE authorities to provide these requested records to the BSEC investigation committee has been strictly set for August 23, 2026.
This significant regulatory development in Dhaka, Bangladesh, marks an important step by the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission as it exercises its oversight powers regarding the governance, financial dealings, and operational transparency of the country's premier stock exchange.
