Preparations and logistical concerns have come to light regarding the cricket venue and athlete accommodation for the upcoming Asian Games, scheduled to take place in September and October 2024. The international sporting extravaganza is set to feature approximately 15,000 participating athletes from across the continent, bringing considerable attention to the host nation and the specific facilities prepared for the competitions.

The cricket matches of the Asian Games will be hosted at the Korogi Sports Park, located in Nisshin, a small city situated to the east of Nagoya, Japan. As part of the preparations for the multi-sport event, the baseball ground at this location was officially converted to make it suitable for cricket matches back in March.

To ensure optimal playing conditions for the competing teams, the venue will utilize hybrid pitches. These specialized pitches have been constructed using a combination of natural grass alongside a small quantity of polythene fiber, providing a durable surface for the various matches scheduled throughout the tournament.

The schedule for the cricket tournaments has been officially outlined, with the women's cricket event scheduled to take place first, running from September 17 to September 22. Following the conclusion of the women's matches, the men's cricket event will get underway, running from September 24 through to October 1.

Despite the preparations of the venue, which has a spectator seating capacity of approximately 2,000 people, logistical challenges regarding the living conditions for competitors have been raised. An official from the Olympic Council of Asia addressed the situation regarding the accommodations provided for the athletes, stating that it is genuinely a problem.

Elaborating on the cramped living conditions inside the residential quarters, the Olympic Council of Asia official explained that the rooms are very small. The official specifically noted that if a single player opens up their kit bag, there will not be very much space remaining to even stand up inside, adding that organizers are currently trying to find a solution to this issue.
