Chittagong Port to Sell 442 Containers of Goods Through E-Auction
The National Board of Revenue has announced an initiative to sell 442 containers of goods through an e-auction in August to ease container congestion at the Chittagong Port. This measure aims to enhance port capacity and ensure security.

In an effort to enhance the operational capacity of the port, alleviate container congestion, and guarantee security, authorities have moved forward with a significant auction initiative. The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has undertaken measures to sell a total of 442 containers filled with goods through an e-auction process during the month of August.
The official announcement regarding this auction initiative was made public through a formal press release issued by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) on August 24, 2026. The structured e-auction process is divided into specific schedules and categories to facilitate the systematic disposal of the designated inventory currently situated at the port facilities.
According to the official schedule released by the authorities, the tender box for e-auction number 09/2026 is officially scheduled to be opened on September 16. The opening process for this specific batch of tenders will take place in the afternoon at precisely 3:30 PM.
In addition to the September 16 opening, a subsequent session designated as special e-auction number 10/2026 has also been organized. The tender box for this special e-auction is scheduled to be opened a few days later, specifically on September 20 at 11:00 AM in the morning.
These upcoming e-auction events represent a crucial operational step for the Chittagong Port as it manages its stored inventory. By implementing these structured sales through the National Board of Revenue, the port expects to clear out long-standing goods and streamline future logistics operations effectively.
