Chitramela 2026 Art Exhibition Opens in Lalmatia to Mark 16 Years

The sixteenth anniversary celebrations of Joler Dhara Fine Arts officially commenced with the grand inauguration of the Chitramela 2026 art exhibition. This milestone event brings together the vibrant and diverse artistic community to celebrate a significant journey of creative practice and cultural contribution over the past sixteen years.

The inaugural ceremony of the exhibition took place yesterday, Friday afternoon, at Gallery Mafa located in the Lalmatia area of the capital city, Dhaka. A gathering of distinguished artists, cultural figures, and art enthusiasts attended the opening event to mark the commencement of this notable artistic showcase.

A total of eighty-one unique artworks created by both veteran and emerging artists have been selected to be featured in this comprehensive exhibition. This diverse collection highlights a wide spectrum of creative expressions, styles, and perspectives representing different generations of the artistic landscape.

Organizers have confirmed that the Chitramela 2026 exhibition will remain open to the public daily from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Art lovers and visitors will have the opportunity to view the displayed collection until the exhibition concludes on September 25.

The event is a collaborative cultural milestone involving institutions and individuals such as Samakal, Joler Dhara Fine Arts, Desh Rupantor, and Gallery Mafa. Numerous prominent personalities, including Biren Som, Kawsar Hasan Togor, Mustafiz Shafi, Salma Shirin, Sohag Parvez, Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, Monirul Islam, Alokesh Ghosh, Hamiduzzaman Khan, Mohammad Iqbal, Gautam Chakraborty, Azharul Haque Sheikh, Karu Titas, Shahanur Mamun, and Kamal Uddin, are associated with the broader cultural sphere supporting these artistic endeavors.
