BSIC Display and Sales Center Opens at Sylhet Airport

A new display and sales center operated by the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSIC) has been officially inaugurated at the Sylhet Osmani International Airport. The inauguration ceremony took place on August 22, drawing attention to the expansion of regional cottage industries and local product promotion within the aviation hub.

The opening event at the Sylhet Osmani International Airport was attended by several notable local figures, political leaders, and organizational representatives. Among those present at the venue were Advocate Emran Ahmad Chowdhury, Abdul Kaiyum Chowdhury, Rezaul Hasan Qais Lodi, Abul Kaher Chowdhury Shamim, Md. Badruzzaman Selim, Nasim Hossain, and Imdad Hossain Chowdhury.

In addition to the inauguration of the BSIC facility, discussions at the event touched upon broader national and regional infrastructure developments. The proceedings also engaged various local administrative and political entities, including the Sylhet-6 constituency, the Sylhet City Corporation, the Sylhet Development Authority, the Sylhet District Council, the Jalalabad Gas Transmission and Distribution System Limited, and the Metropolitan BNP.

Addressing broader energy and utility matters during the August 22 gathering, officials highlighted ongoing government initiatives within the power sector. Specifically, the administration is actively working toward a strategic target of generating 10,000 megawatts of solar power across the country to meet rising energy demands.

Furthermore, discussions during the event noted the potential for harnessing optimal solar energy utilization for a duration of three and a half to four hours. These power sector considerations are closely linked to ongoing industrial sector challenges, particularly concerning fuel crisis management overseen by relevant authorities such as Jalalabad Gas Transmission and Distribution System Limited.
