Berger Award for Excellence in Architecture 2026 Announced
Berger Paints Bangladesh and the Institute of Architects Bangladesh have announced the 12th edition of the Berger Award for Excellence in Architecture. Seven projects will be awarded, with winners receiving 200,000 taka each.

The 12th edition of the prestigious Berger Award for Excellence in Architecture for the year 2026 has been officially announced, marking another milestone in recognizing outstanding architectural achievements. This major architectural competition is jointly organized by Berger Paints Bangladesh and the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) to honor excellence and innovation within the field.
The official announcement regarding the 2026 edition of the awards was made during a press conference held last Saturday. The event took place at the IAB Centre, located in the Agargaon area of the capital city, Dhaka, drawing attention from professionals and stakeholders in the architectural community.
A notable gathering of prominent figures was present at the announcement event in Dhaka. Among the attendees were Moushumi Ahmed, Abu Sayeed M Ahmed, Mohsin Habib Chowdhury, Nawajish Mahbub, and Mahfuzul Haque Jaglul, who participated in the proceedings at the IAB Centre.
For this upcoming 12th installment of the awards, a total of seven projects will be selected and rewarded for their architectural merit. Each of the winning projects will receive a cash prize of 200,000 taka, while the recognized projects designated for honors will be awarded 50,000 taka each.
Participants and interested architects should note the important upcoming deadlines associated with the submission process. The final date for the submission of nominations has been scheduled for September 17, followed by the final project submission deadline on October 29.
