Bangladeshi Worker Rubel Mia Killed by Tanker in Saudi Arabia's Jizan

A Bangladeshi expatriate worker named Rubel Mia has lost his life in a tragic workplace accident in the city of Jizan, Saudi Arabia. The 30-year-old was actively carrying out his professional duties when he was struck and crushed by a heavy tanker. The fatal incident occurred during the evening hours on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, plunging his family and community into deep mourning.
The victim, Rubel Mia, was a native of Bangladesh. He originally hailed from Madhyapara village, which is situated within the Achmita Union of Katiadi Upazila in the Kishoreganj District. He was the son of Mo. Kajol Bepari, a local resident who is now grappling with the sudden and devastating loss of his son abroad.
Following the tragic event, news of Rubel Mia's death has reached his family back in Bangladesh. His wife, Rima Akter, expressed her profound grief and helplessness over the sudden tragedy. The heartbreaking news has left his relatives, including individuals identified in reports as Rubel Ahmed Rana, in a state of shock as they process the abrupt end to his life overseas.
In the wake of the tragedy, the bereaved family has made a heartfelt plea to the relevant authorities for assistance. Rima Akter shared the overwhelming pain of her loss, stating that accepting the reality of her husband's permanent absence is extremely difficult for the family to bear at this time.
Voicing the family's primary wish, Rima Akter implored the authorities to expedite the process of bringing her husband's remains back to their homeland. She stated that she at least wants his body quickly repatriated to the country so she can see him one last time, and ultimately bury him in the presence of their loved ones.
