Bangladesh Weather Forecast: Rain to Lower Temperatures Temporarily
Bangladesh's Meteorological Department reports that ongoing rain may temporarily reduce high temperatures across various divisions. However, officials warn that temperatures will likely fluctuate before a potential drop around September 24 and 25.
Bangladesh is experiencing a temporary reprieve from high temperatures as light to moderate rain or thunder showers are expected to occur across different divisions of the country. According to the weather forecast on September 17, this precipitation is anticipated to bring some relief to residents who have been dealing with intense heat over recent days. The meteorological office confirmed that various regions are currently experiencing wet weather conditions driven by seasonal atmospheric patterns affecting the nation.
Despite the incoming rainfall and the possibility of a brief cool-down, heatwave conditions continue to affect specific parts of the country. Mild heatwaves are currently sweeping over several specific locations, notably impacting the districts of Dhaka, Faridpur, Rangpur, Jashore, and Khulna. These persistent warm conditions highlight the ongoing summer-like weather patterns that have gripped multiple administrative zones in recent days.
Statistical data released regarding the past 24 hours illustrates the intensity of the heat prior to the expected rain. The highest recorded temperature in the entire country during this 24-hour period was measured in Jashore, reaching 36.4 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the capital city of Dhaka experienced similarly sweltering conditions, registering a high temperature of 36 degrees Celsius.
Looking ahead at upcoming weather developments, meteorologists have forecasted the formation of a low-pressure system. This system is anticipated to develop over the northern Bay of Bengal and the coastal areas of Bangladesh within the next few days, specifically by September 19. Such low-pressure formations typically influence regional wind patterns and moisture levels.
Tariful Newaz Kabir, a representative of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, provided detailed insights into the expected temperature trends, speaking via Bangla Tribune. He explained that while rain may cause temperatures to drop slightly, they are likely to rise again the following day. Kabir noted that temperatures will continue to fluctuate up and down, and that a permanent decrease in temperature may take some more time. He specifically added that if additional rain occurs around September 24 and 25, there is a possibility that temperatures could decrease a bit further.
