State Minister for Youth and Sports Mohammad Aminul Haque has taken significant steps to involve former footballers in the development and committees of various sports federations in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The policy aims to leverage the extensive experience of retired athletes for the strategic advancement of national sports administration.

Mohammad Aminul Haque brings a distinguished athletic background to his governmental role, currently serving as the State Minister for Youth and Sports while also being a former national football team captain and goalkeeper. Furthermore, he was a proud member of the Bangladesh squad that clinched the prestigious SAFF Championship title in the year 2003.

The integration of former players is already visible within the country's primary football governing body. The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF)—locally known as or abbreviated as বাফুফে—features an executive committee comprising twenty-one members, with six of those elected positions currently held by former footballers.

Beyond the core football administration, the State Minister has appointed numerous former players to various positions across a wide spectrum of national sports organizations. These include the hockey, handball, tennis, chess, fencing, cycling, weightlifting, boxing, and wrestling federations, as well as the kho-kho federation and the Ministry of Youth and Sports itself.

The broader administrative framework within the football federation includes eleven standing committees and seven ad-hoc committees, ensuring structured oversight. By placing experienced former international players into these diverse leadership and committee roles, the ministry seeks to strengthen the operational capacity and future trajectory of sports federations throughout Bangladesh.
