A comprehensive press briefing held in Dhaka on Thursday officially announced the upcoming 'Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026', scheduled to run from September 12 to September 14. The three-day national event will take place at the Novo Theatre in Dhaka, bringing together a wide array of technological minds, academic institutions, and corporate leaders to showcase domestic advancements and foster collaborative networks within the country's growing innovation ecosystem.

Organisers revealed that the event operates under the core thematic slogan 'Innovate to Market', highlighting a strategic emphasis on translating creative concepts into commercially viable products and services. The implementation of the fair is being spearheaded by the National Museum of Science and Technology, operating under the broader umbrella of the Ministry of Science and Technology, alongside active coordination with various national and international partners.

The scale of the upcoming September gathering is set to be extensive, featuring representation from more than 73 public and private universities hailing from all corners of the country. Furthermore, the exhibition floors will host over 100 individual innovators and startup founders who are collectively slated to display upwards of 1,000 distinct innovations spanning across 14 designated priority sectors identified by the event planners.

To facilitate deep policy discussions and cross-sectoral dialogue, the three-day programme is structured to include a total of 17 distinct sessions and dialogues. This comprehensive lineup comprises six plenary sessions, six parallel sessions, and five dedicated roundtable meetings, addressing the multifaceted challenges and opportunities facing modern technological development and entrepreneurial growth in Bangladesh.

The organisational framework of the fair reflects a broad coalition of institutional stakeholders. Key participating entities include the Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Bank, the National Board of Revenue, the Department of Patents, Designs and Trademarks, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), The Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the National Museum of Science and Technology, and Spellbound Communications Limited.

Highlighting the collaborative philosophy driving the initiative, ফকির মাহবুব আনাম stated during the briefing that innovation can never develop in isolation, noting that it requires coordination among the government, academia, the industrial sector, financing institutions, development partners, and investors. The press briefing featured remarks and coordination from key figures including ফকির মাহবুব আনাম, তারেক রহমান, and মো. আনোয়ার হোসেন, setting the stage for what is anticipated to be a landmark event for the nation's technological advancement.
