Bangladesh and Gambia Discuss Rohingya Crisis and ICJ Case Progress

Bangladesh and Gambia have engaged in high-level diplomatic discussions focusing on the protracted Rohingya crisis and the ongoing legal proceedings at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The diplomatic engagement between the two nations took place on August 27, coinciding with the events of the 23rd Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Extraordinary Council of Foreign Ministers meeting. During the discussions, the Attorney General of Gambia, Dauda A. Jalo, provided a crucial timeline regarding the judicial process at the United Nations' highest court. He officially informed the representatives that the much-anticipated verdict in the genocide case filed against Myanmar at the International Court of Justice is anticipated to be delivered in October 2026.
