Chandabidi.com has received 376 extortion claims amounting to over Tk 8.45 crore across Bangladesh in just three days. Dhaka division recorded the highest number of complaints and demanded funds.

A staggering total of 376 extortion claims have been officially lodged with the online platform Chandabidi.com from various locations across Bangladesh. According to the data released by the platform, these numerous grievances were submitted within a remarkably brief span of just three days, highlighting a massive surge in reported extortion demands nationwide.
The cumulative financial magnitude of these reported incidents is exceptionally high. The total amount of money demanded through these 376 separate extortion claims stands at a combined figure of 8 crore 45 lakh 18 thousand 401 Bangladeshi Taka, reflecting the severe economic pressure and illegal financial demands faced by complainants across the country.
A detailed regional breakdown of the submitted complaints reveals that the Dhaka division stands prominently at the very top of the list in both categories—the total number of complaints received and the overall amount of money demanded. Specifically, the Dhaka division alone accounted for 152 distinct complaints, with the illegally demanded funds in this region reaching approximately 5 crore 40 million Taka.
Following the capital region, several other administrative divisions across Bangladesh also reported substantial figures on the Chandabidi.com platform. The Chittagong division recorded 74 separate complaints involving approximately 40 lakh 17 thousand Taka in demanded funds, while the Rajshahi division documented 38 complaints with an estimated 1 crore 6 million Taka demanded by perpetrators.
Additional statistics from the remaining divisions further illustrate the widespread nature of the submitted grievances. The Rangpur division registered 31 complaints amounting to roughly 89 lakh 13 thousand Taka, the Barisal division logged 25 complaints totaling about 3 lakh 84 thousand Taka, and the Khulna division reported 24 complaints with approximately 25 lakh 42 thousand Taka in illegal demands.
Rounding out the nationwide data compiled by Chandabidi.com, the Mymensingh division accounted for 20 complaints involving roughly 12 lakh 64 thousand Taka, while the Sylhet division recorded the lowest regional tally with 12 complaints amounting to approximately 28 lakh 57 thousand Taka in total demanded money.
