Ayub Bachchu Tribute Album 'Uttoradhikar' Suspended Amid Fan Backlash

The activities surrounding the tribute album titled 'Uttoradhikar', which was arranged using popular songs by the legendary Bangladeshi artist Ayub Bachchu, have been officially suspended. Among the releases that managed to reach the public domain before the suspension was the iconic track 'Rupali Guitar', which had been presented with a fresh musical arrangement performed by Bappa Mazumdar and made available across various online streaming platforms.

However, the initial enthusiasm surrounding the project quickly turned into controversy, prompting a swift response from the creative community and involved parties. To address the growing concerns and grievances expressed by the devoted fanbase, a crucial emergency meeting was convened on a Sunday evening. The gathering took place in the capital city of Dhaka, specifically in the Dhanmondi area, bringing together the relevant stakeholders, artists, and organizers to deliberate on the future of the tribute album and to find a respectful path forward.

During this strategic meeting in Dhanmondi, a unanimous consensus was reached regarding the sensitive nature of the late musician's body of work and the deep emotional connection fans share with him. Speaking on the outcome of the discussions, Shamim Ahmed highlighted the collective sentiment of the group, stating that the late artist is a profound emotion for everyone and that his timeless creations cannot be undervalued in any way. He added that everyone present agreed on this principle, noting that they will soon consult with the family members of the late musician to form a panel based on their opinions before deciding to release any tracks again only if deemed appropriate.
