WZPDCL Resolves Prepaid Meter Recharge Crisis After 17 Hours
West Zone Power Distribution Company successfully restores its prepaid metering system following a critical database connection failure. Consumers across the coverage area can now recharge their meters normally after a nearly 17-hour outage.

The West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited, commonly known as WZPDCL, has successfully resolved a widespread technical failure that disrupted prepaid meter recharges for numerous consumers. The unexpected disruption had left many users unable to add credit to their electricity meters, causing significant inconvenience and concern among the public who rely on the continuous supply managed by the power distribution utility.
According to official information released regarding the incident, the root cause of the disruption was traced back to a technical failure within the company's digital infrastructure. Specifically, the database server's logical connection with the application server became completely disconnected, halting the processing of prepaid recharge transactions across the network.
The critical server disconnection occurred on September 14 at precisely 1:00 PM. This sudden severance between the vital database and application servers immediately paralyzed the automated recharge operations, preventing consumers from completing their transactions during the entire duration of the technical glitch.
Following intensive troubleshooting efforts by the technical teams within the power division and WZPDCL, the system was thoroughly inspected and repaired. Normal operations were successfully restored on September 15 at exactly 6:10 AM, bringing an end to the technical complications.
The entire outage period lasted for approximately 17 hours before the prepaid system was fully recovered and rendered operational once again. With the successful restoration of the logical connection between the database and application servers, all recharge services have officially returned to their usual state for consumers.
