US Startup PowerUs Begins Manufacturing Low-Cost Defense Drones in UAE

US startup PowerUs has officially begun manufacturing low-cost defense drones in the United Arab Emirates. The strategic manufacturing initiative has been deployed directly to counter the ongoing threat of Iranian drones in the region. According to verified regional reports, Iran has launched more than 2,200 drones and over 500 ballistic missiles during the course of these hostilities.

The devastating attacks have resulted in at least 15 fatalities within the United Arab Emirates, alongside hundreds of reported injuries among the local population. In response to these escalating security challenges, the newly developed defense drone manufactured by PowerUs has been officially named the 'Guardian'. This interceptor system is designed with a top flight speed reaching up to 200 miles per hour.

Economic efficiency remains a core feature of the PowerUs manufacturing effort, with the basic Guardian model carrying an approximate price tag of just five thousand dollars. This low-cost model stands in stark contrast to traditional interceptors; for context, the estimated price for each Coyote system reaches approximately 126,500 dollars. Industry experts emphasize the strategic distinction of the new hardware within existing defense architectures.

Stacy Pettyjohn, an analyst from the Center for a New American Security, addressed the integration of the new technology by stating that the Guardian and the PAC-3 systems are not mutually exclusive alternatives, but rather serve as complementary assets. The collaborative operational framework aims to enhance overall regional defense capabilities without replacing high-tier missile defense batteries currently deployed across the area.

Production operations at the UAE facility are currently operating at a rigorous pace, with factory laborers putting in shifts lasting up to 12 hours a day. The facility is presently producing approximately 30 defense drones every single day, with immediate corporate targets aiming to scale this daily output up to 100 units. Current monthly manufacturing numbers sit at roughly three thousand defense drones produced.

Looking toward future expansion and technological scaling, PowerUs has established an ambitious roadmap for the facility. The company has set a firm target to achieve a manufacturing capacity of 15,000 defense drones per month by the middle of the year 2027, ensuring long-term supply chain security for regional defense partners.
