US Special Envoy Sergio Gor Visits Jammu and Kashmir to Meet CM Omar Abdullah
US Special Envoy Sergio Gor has visited Jammu and Kashmir for the first time following the abrogation of Article 370. During his trip, he held a productive meeting with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to discuss bilateral relations.

United States Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor has travelled to Jammu and Kashmir, marking the first visit by a top American diplomat to the region since the abrogation of Article 370. The significant diplomatic tour brought the senior US official to the picturesque territory, where he engaged in high-level discussions with local leadership regarding regional developments and international cooperation.
Upon arriving in the scenic region, Special Envoy Sergio Gor expressed his admiration for the local landscape during his inaugural journey. Speaking about his impressions of the area, the American diplomat remarked that this marks his very first time touring the location, describing it as an extraordinarily beautiful place.
During his itinerary, Sergio Gor held a crucial meeting with Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Following their discussions, the US envoy characterized the interaction as a very cordial meeting, emphasizing that both sides are eagerly looking forward to taking their bilateral relationship further.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also shared his perspective on the encounter, noting the importance of the diplomatic exchange. The Chief Minister stated that he was glad to have the opportunity to discuss the broader United States-India relationship centered around Jammu and Kashmir.
Elaborating further on the substance of their talks, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah described the encounter as an extremely productive meeting. He added that while they discussed relations between the two countries, their primary focus was specifically directed toward what the United States can do regarding Jammu and Kashmir.
