A total of thirty-six teams have successfully finalized their qualification to compete in the main round of the tournament. Under the current tournament format, which was introduced two seasons ago when the competition was expanded to thirty-six teams, every participating side will contest eight matches during the grueling league phase.
As part of the structural rules for these eight fixtures, each team will play four matches at their home grounds and another four matches away at the venues of their respective opponents. Reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), having clinched the UEFA Champions League title for two consecutive years, have secured a direct and guaranteed spot inside Pot 1.
The qualification pathways also produced notable milestones and long-awaited returns for several clubs aiming for continental glory. Fenerbahce successfully navigated the rigorous preliminary qualification rounds to reach the main tournament proper for the very first time since the 2008-09 football season, highlighted by a narrow 3-2 victory across two legs in their play-off fixture against Lyon.
Meanwhile, Norwegian side Viking achieved a historic breakthrough by qualifying for the main phase of the Champions League for the very first time in their club history. Viking secured their spot following a solid 3-1 victory in a single match and a commanding 5-3 aggregate triumph over Dinamo Zagreb across both legs of their tie, while other qualifying matches saw AEK Athens defeat Levski Sofia 4-0.
