Two giant hilsa fish weighing over 3.5kg sold for Tk 15,000 in Bhola

Two exceptionally large hilsa fish have been caught in the Meghna river, drawing significant attention in the local area. The remarkable catch took place in the waters of the Meghna river, which flows near Dhalchar in Monpura upazila of Bhola district.

According to the verified reports, the combined weight of the two giant hilsa fish is more than three and a half kilograms. Upon closer inspection of the catch, the larger of the two hilsa fish was found to weigh two kilograms and two hundred grams, while the second hilsa fish weighed one and a half kilograms.

Following their capture in the river, the two large hilsa fish were brought to the Dhalchar fish landing station on Monday afternoon. At the landing station, the fish were put up for a public auction to determine the highest bidder among the gathered traders and locals.

During the auction held at the Dhalchar fish landing station on Monday afternoon, the pair of large hilsa fish was successfully sold for a total of fifteen thousand taka. The auction process saw active participation from local traders operating in the coastal region.

Local fish trader Saifullah Molla emerged as the successful buyer, purchasing the two prized hilsa fish at the auction. Immediately after acquiring the fish for fifteen thousand taka, arrangements were made to dispatch the massive hilsa catch toward the capital city of Dhaka.
