On the afternoon of August 28, a traditional boat race was organized by local villagers at Asharer Bil, adjacent to the bottola of Khoar village in Athghar union, located within Saltha upazila. The vibrant aquatic competition brought together community members and visitors to witness the lively racing event on the bill.
Alongside the boat race, the gathering was accompanied by a traditional rural fair that was set up directly on the banks of the bill. The fair added a festive atmosphere to the Friday afternoon proceedings, drawing attendees from the surrounding areas to experience the local culture and festivities.
The event was graced by several notable figures who attended as distinguished guests. Dabir Uddin, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Saltha, was present at the well-attended gathering in the capacity of chief guest, overseeing the community celebration.
Additionally, the function featured several special guests who addressed or participated in the day's proceedings. Among them were Md. Bablur Rahman Khan, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Saltha Police Station, and Siddiqur Rahman Talukdar, the former president of the Upazila BNP, alongside other local dignitaries and community members.
