The upcoming Indian cinematic release 'Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups' has generated massive anticipation and controversy surrounding its advanced ticket bookings across the country. Scheduled to hit theatres on August 26, the film is directed by filmmaker Geetu Mohandas and boasts a prominent ensemble cast featuring lead actor Yash, alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth.

Ahead of its official release date, advance ticket sales tracked by industry tracker Sacnilk have crossed a significant milestone, with more than 473,000 tickets sold across various regions in India. Total earnings from these advanced bookings have already surpassed 27 crore rupees, specifically hitting an initial first-day advance booking calculation of 27 crore 38 lakh rupees across a massive rollout of 12,609 shows nationwide.

Regional breakdowns highlight robust demand, particularly in Karnataka where the film has secured 1,744 shows. Karnataka alone accounts for 10 crore 69 lakh rupees in revenue, with 742 of those shows currently reported as nearly full. Meanwhile, other major territories have also recorded strong numbers, including 2,319 shows in Gujarat generating 1 crore 17 lakh rupees, 2,189 shows in Maharashtra bringing in 1 crore 33 lakh rupees, alongside collections of 89 lakh 51 thousand rupees in West Bengal, 87 lakh 92 thousand rupees in Delhi, and 80 lakh 29 thousand rupees in Uttar Pradesh.

Language-specific gross earnings for the opening day advance bookings further emphasize the film's wide reach, with the Kannada version's 2D screenings alone pulling in 9 crore 60 lakh rupees, while the Hindi version has contributed 7 crore 72 lakh rupees to the overall 18 crore 84 lakh rupees sub-total tracked in early figures.

Addressing the project and the broader societal context, lead actor Yash shared insights regarding the film's creative direction and message. Reflecting on following up on his previous work in 'KGF', Yash noted that people wondered what major director or commercial formula he would pursue next, but director Geetu Mohandas approached him differently, telling him she did not need money because he had already given her enough.

Yash also offered a direct message to young women and aspiring creators, acknowledging that the film's director is a woman and noting the hurdles faced by female professionals. He stated that achieving things in life is difficult for everyone, but twice as hard for women, adding that society may not always accept them and people often question what a woman can accomplish, noting he has heard such remarks himself.

The actor expressed confidence that the director will prove that every girl and woman can face any situation, express their thoughts and ideas, and succeed in society on their own terms. Asserting that the film truly amplifies women's voices in contrast to initial impressions from its trailer, Yash encouraged audiences by saying, 'Watch the movie, enjoy it. I am sure you will have a great time,' while emphasizing that he earns respect through his work rather than his wealth.
