Reflecting on the challenging circumstances at the start of his innings, Towhid Hridoy made a frank confession about his initial mindset. He stated that a triple century was extremely far away, and he had not even considered whether he would manage to score a standard century or what the ultimate outcome would be, having no such thoughts on his mind.
Hridoy further detailed the difficult team conditions when he first came to the crease, noting that after the match started, they were not in a very good position and were somewhat on the back foot. In that precarious situation, he felt that a triple century was a sheer fantasy, and even the thought of reaching a hundred had not crossed his mind.
As his innings progressed, Hridoy reached his half-century off just 40 balls, and by the end of the first day's play, he remained unbeaten on 75 runs.
