In an initiative aimed at promoting literature and critical thinking among the youth, the Thakurgaon chapter of Bondhushava recently organized a special reading circle focusing on Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore's renowned short story, 'Kortar Bhut'. The literary gathering took place on the afternoon of August 19, bringing together members of the organization and literature enthusiasts at a prominent local venue in Thakurgaon.

The venue for this engaging cultural and literary event was the premises of the Kachubari Kristopur Maf Shishu-Briddha Ashram, located in the Sadar upazila of Thakurgaon. By hosting the reading circle at the children and elderly shelter home, the organizers provided a unique setting for the community-oriented discussion, engaging participants in a meaningful exploration of Tagore's timeless writing.

During the session, participants delved deeply into the thematic elements of 'Kortar Bhut'. Syed Shihab shared his perspective on the literary piece, stating that 'Kortar Bhut' is not merely a story, but a reflection of various societal realities and inconsistencies. He emphasized that the narrative teaches individuals to think with logic rather than following anything blindly, adding that the objective of such reading circles is to cultivate a reading habit among young people and create opportunities for them to think freely.

Echoing similar sentiments, Abdullah Al Mamun highlighted the broader intellectual benefits of literature during the discussion. He noted that reading habits enrich human thought and mentality, explaining that a good book or story creates an opportunity to view society in a new light. Consequently, he stressed that regular reading circles need to be organized to build and sustain these essential habits among the younger generation.

The event witnessed active participation from a dedicated group of members representing Thakurgaon Bondhushava. Among the individuals present at the August 19 gathering were S. Syed Shihab, Abdullah Al Mamun, S. M. Ibne Alif, Maruf Hasan, Siyamur Rashid, Farzana Urmi, Nusrat Nishi, Pinky Akter, Al Nafis Chowdhury, Md. Uzzal, and Anis, all of whom contributed to the vibrant discourse surrounding Tagore's classic work.
