Thai E-Visa Portal and DTV Requirements Update Announced in Dhaka

The Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka has officially issued an important notification regarding scheduled technical maintenance that will temporarily interrupt digital consular services for applicants residing in Bangladesh. According to the published advisory from the diplomatic mission, the designated Thai e-visa application portal and the associated e-visa payment system will be taken offline for essential system updates starting this coming Sunday, August 30.

During this scheduled temporary suspension period, applicants will be unable to submit new online visa applications or process digital payments through the official platform. The embassy has clarified that the disruption is strictly temporary and necessary to implement system improvements. Both affected digital services are scheduled to resume normal operations and become fully accessible to the public on the following Monday, September 3, allowing standard processing to continue.

In addition to the portal maintenance schedule, the embassy announced important policy updates concerning the long-term Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) category. Effective from August 31, individuals applying for the five-year valid Thailand DTV visa will be required to submit supplementary documentation to support their applications. These newly mandated documents specifically include an official proof of permanent address in the applicant's home country.

Furthermore, the updated administrative guidelines for the five-year DTV visa stipulate that applicants must also provide a valid police clearance certificate as part of their submission requirements. These enhanced verification measures represent a shift in the application criteria for those seeking the long-term stay option facilitated through the Dhaka diplomatic office.

The announcement impacts all prospective travelers and long-term visitors from Bangladesh who rely on the digital portal for visa processing. Applicants have been advised to take note of the August 30 system closure and the subsequent September 3 resumption date when planning their submissions, as well as preparing the newly required permanent address proof and police clearance certificate for any DTV applications initiated on or after August 31.
