Rajshahi Vegetable Prices Remain Stable While Egg Rates Rise
Vegetable supplies and prices remain stable in Rajshahi markets, offering relief to everyday shoppers. However, the cost of eggs has seen an increase compared to the previous week.

According to confirmed facts, the overall supply of vegetables in the Rajshahi market has stayed normal, which has helped keep various food items accessible to local consumers.
Shopper Galib shared his perspective on the current market conditions, stating that the prices he paid for vegetables this week were nearly the same as the previous week. He noted that the prices currently fall well within their purchasing capacity and expressed that such stability is beneficial for ordinary people. Another shopper, Hafizur, explained that Rajshahi produces an abundance of vegetables, and although heavy rain and floods had previously driven prices up, normalized supply has brought costs under control.
Local market conditions were further detailed by vendor Ali Akbar, who mentioned that adequate supplies arrive daily from various areas, keeping most vegetables priced between 30 and 40 taka and allowing customers to shop with peace of mind. Shopper Jsim added that nearly every kind of vegetable is available within 40 taka and that green chili prices have dropped significantly, creating a favorable environment for both buyers and sellers.
Despite the stable vegetable market, Hanif Mahmud, a local merchant, reported that the price of eggs has risen compared to the previous week. According to Mahmud, egg prices increased by 2 to 4 taka per hali and up to 10 taka per dozen. He also noted that he is currently selling broiler chickens at 170 to 180 taka per kilogram, while pointing out that there have been no major price shifts in the broader chicken market.
Market price records show a wide range of commodities available across Rajshahi. Vegetables are listed with items like cucumbers and bitter gourds at 30 taka per kg, potatoes at 20 to 25 taka per kg, onions at 45 to 50 taka per kg, pointed gourds at 30 taka per kg, okra at 25 to 30 taka per kg, eggplants at 40 taka per kg, cauliflower at 60 to 70 taka per kg, ridge gourds, snake gourds, and yardlong beans at 30 taka per kg each, taro stems at 40 taka per kg, raw papaya at 25 taka per kg, sweet pumpkin at 35 taka per kg, raw bananas at 25 taka per hali, elephant foot yam at 40 taka per kg, bottle gourds and ash gourds at 30 taka per piece, carrots at 140 taka per kg, tomatoes at 140 to 150 taka per kg, ginger at 180 taka per kg, Natore garlic at 80 taka per kg, and local garlic at 160 to 170 taka per kg.
