The Pakistan women's cricket team has been penalized for maintaining a slow over-rate during their crucial Women's Asia Cup semi-final encounter against Sri Lanka. The match took place on September 11 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, where the high-stakes contest carried significant consequences for both sides competing in the regional tournament.
Match officials determined that the Pakistan team was one over short of their target when time allowances were calculated. Consequently, the International Cricket Council (ICC) imposed a sanction resulting in a five percent match fee deduction for every member of the entire Pakistan playing squad.
Following the conclusion of the match, Pakistan captain Fatima Sana formally accepted the imposed sanction regarding the slow over-rate infraction.
