Nintendo Announces Ocarina of Time Remake for Switch 2

Nintendo has officially announced a brand-new remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time specifically developed for the upcoming Switch 2 platform. According to the confirmed rollout schedule, this eagerly anticipated title is officially slated to launch on November 5th, 2026, bringing one of gaming's most celebrated classics to modern hardware.

Regarding the pricing structure for the software, consumers will have multiple purchasing options depending on their preferred format. A standard digital copy of the Ocarina of Time remake will cost $59.99, whereas collectors and players who prefer traditional media will find that a physical copy will cost $69.99 at standard retail.

Adding to the retail details, early marketplace activity has already begun ahead of the official release date. Notably, Walmart offered physical preorders of the game for a discounted price of $59.88, giving early shoppers a slight discount on the physical edition before launch.

Addressing the creative direction behind the project, producer Eiji Aonuma described the upcoming release as a faithful interpretation using modern technologies. This vision aims to balance the nostalgic integrity of the original adventure with the advanced capabilities of the new hardware.

Beyond the video game release, Nintendo's broader franchise expansion includes other major multimedia projects currently in the pipeline. The upcoming live-action Zelda movie will be titled simply The Legend of Zelda and hits theaters on April 30th, 2027, extending the iconic fantasy universe into the cinematic realm.
