Nilphamari experiences season's first autumn fog and morning dew
Nilphamari has witnessed its first seasonal fog and morning dew, with the Syedpur meteorological office recording a minimum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. Local residents reported the early morning weather phenomenon across Domar municipality and surrounding areas.
Residents across several areas of Nilphamari, including Domar municipality and Syedpur, experienced the season's first occurrence of morning fog and dew on Wednesday. The unexpected weather transition marked a noticeable shift in local atmospheric conditions, bringing the first visible signs of cooler morning weather to the region.
According to the official records provided by the Syedpur meteorological office, the minimum temperature in the area dropped to 26 degrees Celsius at 6:00 AM on Wednesday. This specific temperature reading highlights the changing meteorological patterns currently taking place across the northern district as the seasons begin to transition.
Discussing the scientific background behind the early morning phenomenon, Lokman Hakim explained the atmospheric processes at work. He noted that variations in temperature combined with moisture present in the air can create this type of fog or hazy covering during the early morning hours.
Elaborating further on the mechanics of the event, Hakim stated that the air close to the earth's surface cools down much more rapidly during the night and early morning compared to daytime conditions. During this cooling process, moisture suspended in the air transforms into tiny water droplets that remain floating in the atmosphere.
As a direct result of these suspended microscopic droplets, a foggy atmosphere develops towards the early morning hours, settling across grass, crop fields, and surrounding localities. However, Hakim also clarified that despite the appearance, true winter-style fog is not actually supposed to form during this particular time of year.
The morning observations were also noted by local individuals including Kawsar Alam, alongside reports gathered through media coverage by Risingbd. Together, these accounts documented the initial appearance of the season's dew and mist as witnessed by the local population on Wednesday morning.
