A growing mindful shopping movement known as the 'No-Buy Challenge' is gaining popularity in Bangladesh, encouraging individuals to take a closer look at their consumer habits. The trend is designed to help participants limit unnecessary shopping while drawing a clear and practical boundary between essential needs and discretionary wants.

As part of the challenge, individuals typically exclude necessary daily living expenses from their restriction lists. Essentials such as groceries, food, rent, utility bills, transportation, and medicine are permitted, ensuring that participants can maintain their standard of living and health without disruption.

Conversely, non-essential items are usually placed directly on the 'No-Buy' restriction list. Categories of goods that face bans during these challenges include new clothes, extra makeup, skincare products, and home decor items that are deemed luxury purchases rather than necessities.
