MBLC Annual Picnic Celebrates Bengali Culture in Manitoba

The Manitoba Bangla Learning Centre (MBLC) recently hosted its much-anticipated annual picnic for the community, bringing together families and supporters. The celebratory gathering took place on Saturday, September 2, at La Barrière Park located in the Canadian province of Manitoba.

The primary mission of the Manitoba Bangla Learning Centre is dedicated to nurturing the young generation of expatriate Bangladeshi children who are growing up in Canada. Through structured programs, the institution focuses on teaching them the Bengali language, traditional songs, and cultural dances, ensuring that their rich heritage remains alive and thriving far from their ancestral homeland.

Beyond cultural and linguistic education, the organisation maintains an official collaboration with the government school division in Manitoba. This vital partnership integrates the centre's educational efforts within the broader academic framework available to students in the region.

As a direct result of this academic collaboration, participating students have the unique opportunity to earn formal recognition for their studies. Specifically, students can successfully complete and pass four dedicated credits in the Bengali language as part of their high school curriculum.
