Malaysia Resumes Recruitment of Bangladeshi Workers via 338 Approved Agencies
Bangladesh is set to resume sending workers to Malaysia's labor market through an approved list of 338 recruiting agencies. The process includes government involvement alongside directly selected and associate agencies.
The recruitment of Bangladeshi workers destined for the Malaysian labor market is officially set to resume, marking a significant development for international employment between the two nations. According to updates released on August 28, the process will involve a total of 338 Bangladeshi recruiting agencies that have been granted approval to facilitate the migration of workers.
The administrative framework for this resumed labor migration involves specific categorizations of the approved agencies. Notably, the government of Malaysia has directly selected 25 agencies to play a primary role in the recruitment procedures.
In addition to the directly selected entities, a larger cohort of 312 agencies has been integrated into the system. These 312 businesses have been designated specifically to operate as ‘associate recruitment agencies’ to support the overall intake of workers.
Furthermore, institutional oversight and operational execution will be bolstered by state involvement. The government recruiting agency, known as Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Limited (BOESL), is confirmed to actively participate and work within this recruitment process.
This renewed pathway for Bangladeshi workers aims to streamline employment opportunities in Malaysia under the newly structured network of approved agencies. Stakeholders from the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment are closely involved as the logistics of sending workers through BOESL and the 338 agencies take effect.
