Lodewijk de Kruif returns to coach the Bangladesh U-17 football team on a two-month contract. He is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on September 24 ahead of the AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualifiers.
The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has appointed Lodewijk de Kruif as the head coach of the Bangladesh U-17 football team. The 55-year-old Dutch coach brings significant prior experience to the role, having previously served as the head coach of the senior Bangladesh national football team from 2013 to 2016. During his previous tenure with the national side, statistics show he managed 16 matches, securing only two victories.
Nasser Shahriar Zaheedi confirmed the appointment details, stating that De Kruif is taking over the responsibilities for the under-17 squad. According to Zaheedi, the coach will oversee the team for an initial duration of two months. Furthermore, the authorities will evaluate his performance and extend his contract if necessary based on future requirements.
De Kruif is scheduled to arrive in the capital city of Dhaka on September 24 to officially assume his coaching duties. His immediate task involves preparing the under-17 players for upcoming international competition under the banner of the Bangladesh Football Federation.
The team's major upcoming assignment is the qualification round for the continental tournament. The AFC U-17 football qualifiers are set to commence on November 8 in the United Arab Emirates, where the young Bangladesh side will compete under De Kruif's guidance.
