Israeli Forces Force Palestinian Families From West Bank Homes in Qusra
Israeli soldiers have forced two Palestinian families to leave their homes in the occupied West Bank town of Qusra. Troops also occupied additional houses and cut off essential utility supplies in the area.
Israeli military forces have compelled two Palestinian families to abandon their homes in Qusra, located in the occupied West Bank, according to reports from Thursday. The incident marks a severe escalation in displacement tactics deployed against local residents in the area, drawing widespread attention to the ongoing crisis in the West Bank.
On Thursday morning, the operation intensified as Israeli soldiers occupied an additional eight houses on the outskirts of the Qusra suburb. Furthermore, Israeli settlers and military personnel erected tents directly blocking the entryways of three separate houses in the village, effectively sealing off the properties from normal access.
As part of these restrictive measures, the occupying forces cut off both water and electricity supplies to the affected residences, compounding the hardship faced by the local families. Residents detailed the sudden disruption when speaking about the military's arrival and demands on the ground.
Describing the events, local resident Kuসাই রিদি recounted, "At around 10 in the morning, the army came and told us to evacuate our homes because a three-day military operation would take place in the area. We refused to leave. After that, the army gathered us all in one house." He added regarding his current outlook, "I am scared and do not believe the army will actually remove the settlers. But I sincerely hope they will do so."
Amid these developments involving troops, Major General Avi Bluth, who serves as the commander of all Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank, traveled to Qusra on Wednesday to meet with Palestinians who had become trapped by the unfolding situation.
The current tensions in Qusra follow prior violence in the region. Notably, in March, a Palestinian resident named Amir Motasem Odeh was killed by an Israeli settler, leaving a lingering atmosphere of grief and vulnerability that persists among the community members today.
