Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate uncovered an illegal fake cigarette factory operating in Dhaka. The illicit manufacturing facility was found hidden inside a seed processing center in Mirpur.

The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) has successfully uncovered an illegal and counterfeit cigarette manufacturing factory operating covertly within the capital city of Dhaka. The operation brings to light a deceptive scheme where illicit tobacco products were being produced under the guise of legitimate agricultural goods.
According to the verified details of the case, the enforcement action took place on a Saturday. The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate carried out the targeted raid following intelligence regarding unauthorized manufacturing activities taking place within the local area.
The specific location of the crackdown was identified as the Goran Chotbari area, situated in Mirpur-1, Dhaka. Rather than operating out of a standard industrial warehouse, the illegal cigarette production was found to be housed directly inside a specialized agricultural facility.
The raid specifically targeted the premises known as 'Krishibid Seed Limited- Seed Processing Center'. Investigators discovered that the counterfeit cigarette operation was utilizing the agricultural seed processing center as a front to mask its illegal activities from public and regulatory scrutiny.
The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate continues to handle the fallout from the discovery at the Mirpur-1 agricultural facility. Further details regarding the seizure of materials or subsequent legal steps were not immediately available from the verified operational reports.
