Ibrar Tipu Returns to Singing in the US After Cancer Surgery
Renowned musician Ibrar Tipu has returned to singing after a nearly two-year battle with cancer and major surgeries in the United States. Following treatments that temporarily left him unable to speak, he has expressed a strong desire to return home to Bangladesh upon full recovery.

Renowned music director, composer, and vocalist Ibrar Tipu has returned to singing following a lengthy and grueling battle with cancer in the United States, where he is currently undergoing medical treatment. His journey with the illness began in early 2025, when he was diagnosed with kidney cancer, prompting the commencement of his medical treatments in March of that same year. Throughout his ongoing health struggle, his medical journey has involved two major surgical procedures performed on his body.
The toll of these intensive medical interventions severely impacted his physical capabilities, particularly following the second major surgery. The procedure left his voice virtually gone, rendering him unable to speak for a period. However, his health has since shown signs of improvement, with the artist noting that he is currently feeling considerably better after enduring these profound physical challenges over the past two years.
The momentous return to his musical roots was prompted by a personal request from his wife, Bindu Kona. Encouraged by her persistence, he managed to sing once again after a hiatus of approximately two years. Reflecting on this emotional milestone, Ibrar Tipu stated, 'I was able to sing after almost two years. After the second surgery, my voice was almost gone, and I couldn't speak. Now I am feeling much better. I sang again at the request of my wife, Bindu Kona. I hope to be able to sing again.'
Beyond his musical milestone, the artist has also turned his thoughts toward the future and his homeland. He has articulated a deep and lingering desire to return to Bangladesh to reunite with his family, friends, fellow musicians, and artists. According to the updates shared with Jago News on August 17, 2026, this homecoming is contingent entirely upon his health recovery.
Concluding his remarks to supporters and well-wishers, Ibrar Tipu emphasized his plans to travel back as soon as his medical condition permits. 'I want to come back to the country. I will meet my family, friends, musicians, and artists. I have had this wish for a long time. I will return to the country as soon as I recover. Everyone stay well. Pray for me,' he said.
