Hili Land Port Suspends Import-Export for Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi
Hili land port authorities have announced a one-day suspension of import and export activities between India and Bangladesh to mark Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi. However, passenger movement through the border checkpost will remain operational as usual during this period.
Trade operations between India and Bangladesh through the Hili land port in Dinajpur are scheduled to halt temporarily due to the observance of the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi. According to the official announcement, all categories of product import and export activities via this vital trade route will remain completely closed on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
The temporary shutdown has been arranged specifically to observe the religious occasion of Eid-e-Miladunnabi with due solemnity. Traders, clearing agents, and port workers associated with the Hili land port will observe the holiday on this designated day, halting the usual hustle and bustle of cross-border commerce.
Despite the comprehensive suspension of goods transportation and commercial trade for the day, authorities have confirmed that passenger travel will not be disrupted. The Hili Immigration Checkpost will remain fully operational, allowing passport holders and travelers from both nations to cross the border smoothly without any interruptions.
Following the one-day closure for the religious festival, normal business operations are slated to resume promptly at the trade hub. The import and export activities through the Hili land port will officially restart on Thursday, August 27, 2026, bringing the port back to its regular daily schedule.
