Dhaka Premier League Set to Begin on February 17 Next Year

The upcoming season of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) has been provisionally scheduled to commence on February 17 next year in Dhaka, Bangladesh. According to details released on September 9, 2026, tournament organizers have planned for the next edition of the premier domestic cricket competition to run continuously until its conclusion on April 7. Traditionally, the Dhaka Premier League is held later in the year during the months of April and May, making this upcoming February start an earlier timeline for the participating teams and organizers.

In preparation for the tournament, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced financial support for the competing clubs. Specifically, the Bangladesh Cricket Board will provide each participating club with an amount of 2.5 million taka to play in the Dhaka Premier League. This financial allocation is designed to assist clubs with their operational and competitive requirements as they prepare for the rigorous domestic season ahead.

Logistical arrangements for the upcoming tournament have also been finalized by the responsible authorities. The high-profile cricket competition will be spread across a total of five different venues to accommodate the extensive match schedule between the competing clubs. Utilizing five distinct venues will allow organizers to manage the fixtures efficiently throughout the tournament window leading up to the April 7 final.

Furthermore, player welfare during matchdays has been addressed by the governing body of the sport in the country. Continuing the practice from the previous tournament, the Bangladesh Cricket Board will once again arrange afternoon meals for all participating players throughout the duration of the Dhaka Premier League season.
