Dancer Saved After Jumping Into Yamuna Over Unpaid iPhone EMI
A professional dancer and instructor in New Delhi attempted suicide by jumping into the Yamuna River. He was rescued by patrolling police officers following financial distress over unpaid iPhone installments.
A 31-year-old professional dancer, dance instructor, and gardener faced severe mental pressure after failing to pay the monthly installments for his iPhone. The individual, identified as Deepak Kumar, found himself struggling financially due to a significant decrease in his overall earnings.
The incident took place in the Okhla area located in south-east Delhi, India. According to confirmed reports, the plunging income severely impacted Kumar's ability to clear his financial obligations regarding the smartphone, ultimately driving him to take an extreme step.
Driven by mounting despair over the unpaid installments, Deepak Kumar reached the Bhola Ghat area near Kalindi Kunj in south-east Delhi. In a desperate bid to end his life, he jumped straight into the waters of the Yamuna River.
Fortunately, alert patrolling police officers stationed in the area noticed the dangerous situation unfolding at the Yamuna River. Prompt action by the law enforcement personnel ensured that Kumar was pulled safely out of the water before it was too late.
Following his rescue from the Yamuna River at Kalindi Kunj, Deepak Kumar received immediate medical attention and preliminary first aid. Authorities also provided him with necessary counseling to help address his severe mental pressure and emotional distress.
After completing the necessary medical evaluations and counseling sessions, the rescued dancer and gardener was safely handed over to his family members by the local police authorities in south-east Delhi.
