Crude Oil Prices Shift as Brent Rises and WTI Slips in Global Market
Global crude oil prices experienced mixed movements on August 21, with Brent crude recording a slight increase while US West Texas Intermediate saw a marginal decline. Despite the daily fluctuations, both major benchmarks finished the recent five-day trading period with significant overall gains.

In the global commodities market on August 21, crude oil prices displayed divergent trends across major international benchmarks. Market activity for the day reflected slight adjustments in both upward and downward directions for the world's most traded oil variants.
Specifically, Brent crude oil prices recorded an increase during the session. The benchmark rose by 4 cents, which translates to a 0.04 percent upward movement, bringing the trading price to $93.82 per barrel.
Conversely, the US benchmark, American West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude, moved in the opposite direction. The price of WTI crude decreased by 6 cents, or 0.06 percent, settling at $86.78 per barrel at the close of the market session.
