Among the prominent individuals facing punitive measures is under-19 leg spinner Rohit Yadav, who has been handed a two-year ban from the sport. Investigations into Yadav's records revealed an approximate 27-month age discrepancy, leading directly to the suspension implemented by the Cricket Association of Bengal.
Another notable name included in the extensive list of sanctioned players is former under-19 World Cup-winning pacer Ravi Kumar. Ravi Kumar famously contributed to India's championship campaign during the 2022 U-19 World Cup final, where he delivered an impressive spell of nine overs, conceding 34 runs while claiming four crucial wickets.
However, scrutiny into Ravi Kumar's registration details uncovered a significant discrepancy of approximately 40 months regarding his recorded age. Consequently, the fast bowler has been swept up in the sweeping disciplinary actions taken by the Cricket Association of Bengal alongside the other 64 penalized players.
To ensure that these suspensions are strictly enforced across the broader national landscape, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and all affiliated state cricket boards have been formally notified of the bans.
