Biman Bangladesh Airlines officially resumed its flight operations on the Kuwait-Bangladesh route on August 29, 2026. Flights on this crucial international corridor had been previously suspended since February 28 due to ongoing Middle East war situations and related security concerns in the region.

The successful resumption of the national flag carrier's operations on this route was formally confirmed by A K M Farhad, who serves as Biman's Kuwait Country Manager. This important announcement was made during a special event that had been organized by the Bangladesh Press Club in Kuwait.

Addressing the gathering at the event, A K M Farhad provided detailed context regarding the prior suspension and the new operational rollout. He stated that security issues were the primary reason behind the earlier closure of the Kuwait route, noting that the national flag carrier has now restarted operations starting today.

Highlighting the considerations made for expatriate workers, the Biman country manager explained that the airline has introduced various fares at the lowest possible rates specifically keeping the expatriates in mind. Furthermore, he strongly urged expatriates to travel using Biman flights to actively contribute toward increasing the country's vital remittance inflows and foreign currency reserves.

The return of Biman Bangladesh Airlines to the market has already generated a noticeable competitive impact on regional aviation pricing. Passengers and industry observers have noted that the flight resumption has compelled other carriers operating in the same airspace, including Kuwait Airways and Jazeera, to reduce their respective ticket prices.

Sharing passenger perspectives at the event, Shahid Sarwar noted that Biman offers low fares alongside advantageous baggage allowances. He expressed optimism that if the national carrier maintains proper punctuality and adheres strictly to its scheduled flight timings, passenger demand and travel pressure on Biman will experience a significant further increase.
