In Dhaka, Bangladesh, the national team committee of the Bangladesh Football Federation held a meeting to discuss various matters concerning the national football team. A central topic of discussion during the proceedings was the position of the national football team manager, which sparked significant debate among the participants involved in the administration of the sport.

The discussions surrounding the manager's role follow recent developments in team preparation. Specifically, the Bangladesh football team has already commenced its training camp with the upcoming ASEAN Cup in mind, making administrative decisions regarding team management a pressing priority for the federation.

During the meeting, differing viewpoints emerged regarding who should hold the manager position. Amer Khan has served as the manager of the national football team for the past one and a half years. However, BFF President Tabith Awwal expressed support for having a manager from outside the executive committee.

Conversely, multiple unnamed officials voiced a contrasting perspective during the deliberations. According to these officials, the manager position is one of honor, and because all members of the executive committee are democratically elected and have made long-standing contributions to football, the role should ideally be filled from within the committee itself on a rotational basis.

The debate also brought into comparison the structural approaches used across different squads within the federation. Notably, within the national women's team, the position of manager is currently held by Khalid Mahmud Nawmi, who serves as a staff member of the federation.

The meeting brought together a wide array of figures from the country's football administration. Attendees and stakeholders noted in the context of the discussions included Jamal, Amer Khan, Tabith Awwal, Amirul Islam Babu, Shahadat Hossain, Samid Kashem, Chaied Hasan Kanan, Shafiqul Islam Manik, and Khalid Mahmud Nawmi, alongside representations and associations linked to entities such as Mohammedan, Kings, and Fortis Club.
