BCIC Chairman Inspects Warehouses, Confirms Adequate Urea Stock

Last Monday, Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) Chairman Dr. Mahmudur Rahman conducted official inspections of fertilizer warehouses across several northern regions of the country, specifically visiting locations in Nilphamari, Mahendranagar in Lalmonirhat, and Kurigram to assess the current agricultural supply chain and storage capacities.

During his comprehensive tour of these regional facilities, Dr. Mahmudur Rahman evaluated the existing inventory levels and addressed distribution mechanisms. Following his inspections, the BCIC Chairman authoritatively stated that there is currently adequate urea fertilizer stock available within the country to comfortably meet all domestic agricultural demands up until November 2026.

Highlighting the robust domestic production capacity supporting these stockpiles, officials noted that three local fertilizer factories are actively operating and producing approximately 5,000 metric tons of urea fertilizer on a daily basis, ensuring a steady and continuous stream of supply to the national inventory.

To guarantee transparency and proper execution during the distribution phase, specific administrative measures have been implemented. Dedicated tag officers have been officially appointed at every individual factory and buffer warehouse to strictly oversee and ensure the proper distribution of fertilizer to authorized channels.

Elaborating on the supply chain logistics, Dr. Mahmudur Rahman emphasized that fertilizer is being distributed to dealers in a timely manner directly from BCIC factories and buffer warehouses in strict accordance with the established local demands.

In light of the secure inventory and efficient distribution networks, the BCIC Chairman strongly urged the public and agricultural stakeholders to ignore any rumors or misleading information, advising them not to panic regarding the availability and stock of urea fertilizer in the country.
